“The project consists of 2 volumes separated by a large void, allowing for ventilation and lighting on both sides of the office volume while positioning the parking volume at the rear. The main project requirements were threefold:
Project Name: Televisa San Ángel
Studio Name: Eskema Arquitectos
- Address the vehicular pollution issue on the surrounding roads near Televisa San Ángel.
- Utilize 100% of the site on one level designated for offices.
- Maintain a 30% open space requirement.
From these needs, the concept arose to separate these two uses by dividing the office area into three levels, bringing them to the main facade, and placing the parking at the rear, with a 30% open space in between. This design provides ventilation and lighting from both sides of the office volume.
The facade design stemmed from a structural need to reduce the number of columns and have more open floor plans. Given the site’s proportions led to a main west-facing facade, a rhombus-shaped sheet system was proposed. The upper part has fewer perforations to block the sun, and the lower part has a greater number of perforations to allow for views.
The project offers architectural and aesthetic solutions to functional and technical requirements.”
